Our first photo of Max, when he was a few minutes old.
We arrive home with little Max.
Newborn hats are always so big!
Big sister Zoey comes in to visit at the hospital.
Max and Pieter having a snuggle.
This photo was taken a day before Max was born - Julia is trying to relax on the sofa before the big event.

We went to the swimming pool after preschool, and Zoey just couldn't keep her eyes open on the way home.
Zoey goes hunting for chocolate eggs in the garden. There was a little trail of cotton wool, and the egg was hiding in a tree! Yummy!
Zoey loves having a picnic outside when the weather is warm.
Yes, the see saw is also fun to climb on.
Ah, the playground!
Mmmm, almost summer. And when it's summer, that means ice cream!
Pieter took some time out this year to learn the ropes on a small sailing boat. Note the picturesque windmill in the background.
Zoey participates in a fun run at school. Go Zoey!
It is fun to cycle on the side of the cycle path because it goes bump-bump-bump!
Catching some Dutch spring sunshine at the beach!
Cycling is fun!
At the local King's Day markets. Julia has picked up a big bag of goodies, and is considering something that Zoey has picked out.
Zoey and her sheep
Our bunny Mr Whitey loves this pot full of grass that Julia made for him.
Zoey has fun at an indoor playground.
This was the remains of Mama's birthday cake. There was whipped cream and chocolate involved.
Visiting the gardening centre Dutch style - on the bicycle!
It's spring, and Zoey gets into the spirit by helping clean the doorway. Because those doorways get dirty in winter!
Pizza is one of Zoey's favourite foods. She really gets stuck into it. This was her second slice, and she went on to finish it. Well, maybe in her dreams. She really wanted to eat it all, and it's the thought that counts.
Fake sleeping again... to earn a cookie or some Ipad time...
Future street artist? Using the most environmentally friendly paint on the planet. Fully recyclable. Does not leave stains. Cheap and widely available.
Daredevil Zoey, nothing got her more excited than the pool.
Fresh oranges in the garden.
While Juiia completes the final 100m of her run, Zoey starts her warming up exercises.
Fresh cork. How do they squeeze that into a bottle?
Fresh olives. Not very tasty though.
Fish is one of Zoey's favorite foods, although these fishies were slightly different from what she is used to. We bought some Dorados which Julia skillfully beheaded after it appeared her hand gestures weren't sufficient to indicate that she wanted the fishmonger to fillet the fish. .
Fresh produce at the Olhao Saturday market. Julia is on a mission!
What else do you need? Sun, sea view, beer, good company and a good book (Jip and Janneke).
What better time of year to enjoy warm chocolate milk than Christmas after a good rain storm. Don't try to get between Zoey and chocolate milk (or anything else chocolate, for that matter).
Santa showed us one of his rain deer (Dutch sub species of reindeer). Zoey is imagining them flying through the sky.
